Just as Rickenbacker guitars are famous for their singular sound, Ric basses have become just as sought after for their unmistakable individuality. We sampled this Rickenbacker model 4003 black beauty in parallel, using its unique 'Ric-O-Sound' stereo jack to send the bridge and neck pickups through an Ampeg bass cab and a Joe Meek tube compressor, respectively. The resulting tone combination is thick and meaty in the lower register while still retaining a characteristic punch up top. We've also included alternate pick samples and programmed this dual-velocity monster in a variety of configurations, enabling you to play it full-range or alternating samples by octave in the style of our popular Hard Pick Rock Bass.

Your soundfonts are absolutely the best samples I've worked with. I have several of your drum sets, and the Rickenbacker Pick Bass is fantastic. I A/B'ed your Rick set with our Rickenbacker running through the studio's tube pres/comps/fx's, and your samples are right up there with the "live" tracks. Sonic Implants drums (and now this bass file) let me lay down amazing rhythm sections in record time, leaving me free to focus on developing other instruments and the vocal/lyrics in demo work and preproduction. I'm very confident many of your sets are going to end up in the final mixes--they're that strong.
