Clavinet“Let's face it, when a keyboardist thinks "Clavinet", Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" nearly always comes to mind. With that being said, I found that no other virtual Clavinet captures the sound better than the SONiVOX DVI Clavinet! No other Clavinet emulation on the market offers the sound of the Hohner Clavinet model "C" as they are all usually based around a sample-set from the model "D6". Even the ones that advertise their product as being the most funky and Clavinet-sounding, really don't seem to capture the magic. This one does. If you want that nasal, yet remarkably funky sound of the Hohner Clavinet "C", then look no further as this one hits the nail on the head! With in seconds of trying the DVI for the first time, I was already playing some of my favorite Stevie Wonder tunes; pure bliss. Technically speaking, this instrument is a multi-sampled masterpiece capturing every note of the real Clavinet in multiple velocities, resulting in an plug-in capable of very dynamic playing! If you play softly, the notes of warm and fuzzy, if you play with force you will actually hear the sound brighten up and become extremely percussive. Perhaps the only way to tell you just how realistic this instrument is, would be for you to download the free trial version, and compare it with the original Clavinet tracks from "Superstition".
